This article describes the data principles for Tournament Registration that Thachon is building. It is not an instruction to submit a registration in the product today. Stating that clearly helps teams plan without assuming the feature is already live.
The submitted roster must remain frozen
A registration needs a roster snapshot at submission time because team membership can change later. Organizers must be able to verify who was submitted and whether each person was eligible at that moment.
- Identify discipline and division
- Validate players, substitutes, and roles
- Attach only evidence required by the rules
- Record submission time and responsible manager
Every decision needs a state and an actor
Approve, reject, waitlist, and withdraw should be attributable events, not values overwritten without history. That gives teams a clear decision trail and helps organizers resolve disputes fairly.
